Trump Announces $200bn US-UAE Deals, Including $14.5bn Agreement with Boeing and Etihad Airways

Donald Trump revealed a series of agreements totaling over $200bn between the United States and the United Arab Emirates during his Middle East visit. Key highlights include a $14.5bn deal involving Boeing, GE Aerospace, and Etihad Airways.

The White House confirmed Etihad Airways’ commitment to purchasing 28 Boeing 787 and 777X aircraft powered by GE engines, a move designed to strengthen UAE-US commercial aviation ties and boost American exports.

Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, shared the airline's fleet expansion goals, planning to add up to 22 planes in 2025, with a target of 170 planes by 2030. This year’s new additions include 10 Airbus A321LRs, 6 Airbus A350s, and 4 Boeing 787s.

This announcement follows Boeing's record-breaking $96bn deal with Qatar for wide-body jets earlier in the week.

Trump’s tour, however, sparked controversy due to his acceptance of a $400m luxury jumbo jet from Qatar as a new Air Force One. Defending his decision, Trump emphasized the need for the US to have an "impressive" presidential aircraft.
